Gate 16 corresponds to Hexagram 16 of the I Ching, titled "Enthusiasm." The ancient wisdom of this hexagram informs the gate's theme: the energy is about identification and how it manifests through the Throat Center. Understanding the I Ching root gives you a deeper layer of meaning beyond the Human Design interpretation.

Center Placement

This gate is housed in the Throat Center, which shapes how its energy expresses. The Throat Center is the hub of expression and manifestation. All energy in the chart moves toward the Throat to be communicated, expressed, or acted upon. Gate 16 adds the specific flavor of identification to this center's overall function.

When This Gate Is Defined

If Gate 16 is active in your chart, you carry a consistent energy related to identification.
