What Is Taste Sense in Human Design?

Taste Sense means your deepest awareness operates through discrimination and quality assessment. Like the literal tongue distinguishing sweet from bitter, your energetic taste evaluates everything — people, opportunities, environments — through a lens of quality, value, and genuine nourishment.

Why It Matters

Understanding Taste Sense helps you trust your ability to judge quality. When correct, your discernment is accurate and valuable — you know what is genuinely good and what is not. When distorted, this same ability becomes excessive criticism or the inability to accept anything that doesn’t meet impossibly high standards.

How It Works

Taste Sense evaluates through direct engagement. You need to sample something — an idea, an environment, a relationship — before you can assess its quality. In correct expression, this produces refined, accurate judgment. In distortion, tasting becomes rejecting — finding fault with everything.

How to Use It

Trust your quality assessment — when something doesn’t taste right, honor that signal. But remain open to tasting new things before judging. Your discriminating awareness is a gift when it serves your choices rather than limiting your experiences.
