Self-Projected Authority asks you to externalize your decision-making process. With an undefined Solar Plexus, Sacral, Spleen, and Heart center, your guidance comes from the G Center—the seat of identity, love, and direction—expressed through the Throat. Hearing yourself speak is how you access your inner truth.

What Is Self-Projected Authority in Human Design?
Self-Projected Authority originates from a defined G Center connected directly to the Throat center. The G Center holds your sense of self and life direction. When that identity energy flows to the Throat, speaking becomes the mechanism for discovering your truth. You’re not seeking advice—you’re using conversation as a mirror. This authority appears exclusively in Projectors with a specific open configuration elsewhere in the chart.
Why It Matters
Without an emotional wave, gut response, or instinctive hit to rely on, the mind can easily take over decision-making. Self-Projected Authority safeguards against purely mental choices by requiring you to speak and listen to what comes out. When your voice carries conviction and warmth, that’s your truth. When it sounds hollow or uncertain, you know the direction isn’t right for you.
How It Works
Find a trusted person—someone who listens without imposing their own agenda—and talk through your decision. Pay close attention to how your voice sounds and how your body feels while speaking. Notice which option makes your voice come alive and which one falls flat. The listener’s role is to be a sounding board, not an advisor. Your clarity comes from hearing yourself, not from their input.
How to Use It
Whenever you face a meaningful decision, resist the urge to figure it out silently. Instead, call a friend or speak out loud to yourself. Describe each option and notice the energy behind your words. You can also record yourself and play it back. Over time, you’ll become skilled at recognizing the tone and feeling that signals your authentic direction.
