The 3/6 Profile is one of the most transformative in Human Design. Your life is a journey from raw experimentation to earned wisdom, unfolding across three distinct life phases that shape how you engage with the world.

What Is the 3/6 Profile in Human Design?

Line 3 is your conscious Martyr — the experiential learner who discovers through trial and error. Line 6 is your unconscious Role Model — the part destined to become a living example. The 6th line lives through three phases: trial (birth to ~30), observation (~30 to ~50), and embodiment (~50 onward).

Why It Matters

Understanding the three phases prevents confusion. If you’re under 30, your life is supposed to feel experimental and messy. If you’re between 30 and 50, stepping back is correct. After 50, your experience becomes your authority. Each phase serves the next.

How It Works

In phase one, Line 3 dominates — you learn through doing, breaking, and rebuilding. In phase two, Line 6 climbs onto the “roof” and observes, processing all that experience. In phase three, you descend from the roof and live as an embodied Role Model — trusted because your wisdom is earned.

How to Use It

Trust the phase you’re in. Don’t rush to be a Role Model before you’ve done the experimentation. Don’t stay on the roof forever. When the time comes, step back into life and share what you’ve learned through living it.
